UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA)

The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) is the leading trade body for the UK vaping sector, which represents the manufacturers, retailers, distributors and service providers in the vaping industry.

It is a member-led, non-profit organisation which supports responsible vaping businesses, working to champion the important role that vaping plays in helping adult smokers to move away from cigarettes and eventually quit. Companies that are wholly or partially owned by tobacco businesses are not eligible for membership, and the association does not accept funding from the tobacco industry.

The UKVIA works closely with policymakers and public health stakeholders to ensure that the interests of both the industry and the UK’s seven million vapers are reflected in research and policy. A key aspect of this initiative has been supporting efforts to prevent underage access to products, as well as tackling irresponsible marketing, to protect the legitimate players in the sector.

In recent years, the association has played an important role in contributing to debates surrounding disposable vapes, youth vaping, environmental concerns and the broader ambition to create a smokefree generation in the UK. This is done by regularly submitting evidence to government consultations and engaging with policymakers to provide them with a unified response and consumer research and expertise from across the sector.

Today, the UKVIA continues to provide a clear voice for the sector, while also supporting regulation that protects young people and protects vaping as a tool for adult smokers looking to quit.
